Our department as part of the Faculty of Science and Letters was founded in the year of 2005, with the 21.10.2005 dated verdict of the Council of Higher Education responding to the Ondokuz Mayıs University's proposal, later began education by accepting its first Bachelor students in the 2011-2012 Fall Semester with the 25.08.2011 dated verdict of the Council of Higher Education. In 2014-2015 Fall Semester with the verdict of the Council of Higher Education dated 19.06.2014 our department began education with its Master's Program. Finally with the 10.07.2019 dated verdict of the Council of Higher Education the departments Doctorate Program began to operate in the 2019-2020 Spring Semester.
