The aim of the Department of Archeology is to raise generations who, at the end of their four-year undergraduate education, especially protect the historical heritage of Anatolia, appropriate it for themselves and humanity, adopt it as a cultural identity, protect and promote it for their country. During the 4-year education period, in addition to visual theoretical lessons supported by auxiliary materials such as photographs, slides, projections and computers, participatory training activities such as practical seminars, panels, conferences, examination and research trips, field activities and excavations as a requirement of the discipline of archeology. It is to enable them to participate in excavations and have experience with surface surveys and museum studies, by making practical applications such as studies.
With the education they have received, the graduates have comprehensive knowledge about the socio-cultural structure, belief, economy and production industries of the historical or prehistoric periods, as well as the ability to make analytical analysis, observation and interpretation. Graduates can find the opportunity to work in Archeology Departments, General Directorate of Monuments and Museums, Provincial Culture Directorates, Central Directorate of Revolving Funds, Special Provincial Administrations, Tourism sector and Municipalities.
