The Ondokuz Mayıs University Archaeology Society, comprised of students from the Archaeology Department, organized a trip to Antalya between April 17-21, 2017, with the support of the OMÜ Rectorate. Under the scientific guidance of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Atila TÜRKER and accompanied by Research Assistant Michael Deniz YILMAZ, the group visited the ancient cities of Sagalassos, Myra, Patara, Termessos, Perge, Side, and Aspendos, as well as the Antalya Archaeology Museum, the Attalea Hadrianus Arch, Alanya Castle, Karain Cave, and Damlataş Cave.
This trip, attended by 35 students from the OMÜ Archaeology Society, provided Archaeology Department students with the opportunity to see the ancient cities and cultural heritage sites they had learned about in their classes, reinforcing their knowledge. The warm and welcoming approach of the Patara Excavation Directorate, the Side Excavation Directorate, and the Antalya Archaeology Museum Directorate contributed to the educational aspect of the trip.
