Associate professor of the department, the primary objectives of the research, which was initiated in 2018 by a team formed under the presidency of Asc. Prof. Dr. Akın TEMÜR, are to investigate the history of Vezirköprü District of Samsun Province, to solve the localization problem of the Neoklaudiopolis Ancient City, an important city of the Roman Period, which is frequently mentioned in ancient sources in the district, and to determine the spread of the city. to identify existing archaeological cultural assets, to examine them on site, to document movable and immovable cultural assets, to make registration evaluation, to present, publish and effectively promote scientific results, and to contribute to the scientific world and district tourism. In this context, a five-year working calendar has been prepared and the studies are still continuing.
