As the Ondokuz Mayıs University Addiction Prevention and Research Center (OMÜBAM), we continue our activities aimed at increasing social awareness in line with our mission of combating addiction. Within this framework, in cooperation with the Samsun Governorship, Samsun Provincial Directorate of Youth and Sports, Yeşilay (Turkish Green Crescent Society), and the Samsun Pickleball Association, a significant sporting event is being organized as part of the 19 May Youth Week.
This event is the "Real Fight on the Field: Pickleball Championship Against Addiction," to be held on May 18, 2026, at the OMÜ Faculty of Sports Sciences.
These championships aim not only to promote sports but also to spread awareness of addiction prevention and healthy living through sports. The critical role of physical activity and strong family/social ties in the fight against addiction forms the main theme of the event.
